[Ahaha] Mm, it certainly is an herb--it can be added as an ingredient in some dishes that gives it an extra flavor or as a garnish to decorate and make a dish have a more appealing taste. My brothers have similar-sounding names as well; you could say our parents were particularly fond of the culinary practices as much as I and my brothers are.

[Though that's about all you get about his folks because no one in Pokemon talks about their parents His brothers are named Cress and Chili, so someone had an interesting sense of naming scheme. But hey, they're fitting names for chefs like them...]
